Ce Stamo A Pensà is a compact Roman and Neapolitan restaurant tucked into Via Leonina, just a short walk from the Colosseum. Its location makes it an appealing choice for those looking to pivot from the usual tourist spots to something a bit more authentic and casually intimate. The restaurant’s size is modest, so it suits small groups or pairs rather than large gatherings, which enhances a more personal and relaxed dining atmosphere.

The menu leans heavily on Southern Italian classics, focusing on a few standout dishes rather than an overwhelming list. Expect well-executed pasta options like Spaghetti Carbonara and Amatriciana alongside distinctive items such as Buffalo Mozzarella Pizza and Friarielli Sausage with Provola Cheese. The aubergine parmigiana shines as a highlight for those who appreciate rich, layered flavors beyond the standard pizza-and-pasta fare. Accompanying the meal, the Aperol Spritz and a balanced selection of white wines contribute to a traditional Roman dining vibe.

Service here leans warm and inviting—the owner’s presence creates a welcoming touch often remarked upon by visitors. Customers find the staff genuinely accommodating, with gestures like complimentary appetizers and small treats that make the experience feel less commercial and more like dining among locals. While the interior is simple and seating limited, the atmosphere carries a friendly neighborhood feel rather than the rushed environment found at nearby busier eateries.

Ce Stamo A Pensà is best visited during quieter meal times if you want to avoid waiting, though sampling their fried pizza while in line captures a little of the restaurant’s approachable, no-frills hospitality. It suits those seeking a genuine Roman meal experience, especially travelers who appreciate a break from the usual tourist traps and want some of the regional Southern Italian flavors framed by local hospitality and thoughtful attention.

After a disappointing food experience in Rome, this café was an absolute lifesaver. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff incredibly friendly, and the pizzas some of the best I’ve ever tasted. We ended our Rome trip with our final meal here and immediately wished we’d discovered this gem sooner. The prices are surprisingly affordable, and the staff make you feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their pesto fried pizza is simply unforgettable. Although there’s a 10–15 minute wait, it’s definitely worth it. The service is quick and efficient. I’d love to return to Rome just to visit this café again! P.S. very easy to understand menu!

The food was mostly average. I tried a Napoleon sandwich with spinach, and honestly I didn’t enjoy it. But all the parmigianas and the options with eggplants were truly delicious, full of flavour, and much better than the rest of the menu. There is not enough space to seat, it’s good for 2 people, but the atmosphere was good. Let’s be honest, the lady, the waitress was so friendly and polite. They even gave us some sweets at the end.

This place was a great restaurant after a visit to the Colosseum. Food was delicious and the options were unique compared to getting just pasta or pizza at every nearby restaurant. There was a short line to get into the restaurant, as it was a relatively small place, but the owner himself is very welcoming and greets you himself. While waiting, they offered a sample of their fried pizza and that was the perfect starter to the meal. The prices were affordable and everything looked and smelled amazing. Finally, after ordering some dessert, we got offered another sample of a fried dessert they sold. Definitely returning to this place the next time I’m in Rome and I highly recommend it.

the service AND the food were amazing. I wish I could give them more stars. we were a somewhat large group of 6 and were split up 3 pairs of tables. Our server (possibly the owner or manager?) was kind enough to give us an appetizer on the house which made us feel so welcomed. Every single dish was amazing. At the end, he sent us off with some sweet treats. So incredibly nice of them!!! We didn’t have to wait to be seated, but if you do, IT IS WORTH IT. 10/10 would come back. The pizza is so different from the ones we have had, it’s airy and fluffy and so so soft. Honestly I don’t even know exactly what I ordered but it was a little bit of everything for us all to try. The food was so good that I didn’t even pick up my phone to take a picture because I was enjoying eating it so much.

Incredible food, the small pizzas are delicious. It is almost as though you're eating type of doughnut but in pizza format, it's absolutely delicious. Their aubergine parmigiana saccoccia was incredible, a small bite to enjoy with the pizza. Absolutely delicious and would highly recommend as lunch or dinner when you're visiting the colosseum.

We visited this small restaurant while our trip to Rome and absolutely loved the experience! We tried their small deep-fried pizza — a Southern Italian specialty that we had for the first time. It was light, crispy, and had a donut-like texture with a delicious twist — really unique and tasty. The carbonara was also very nice. The vibe of the place is really nice — cozy and full of energy, though it’s quite compact and more suitable for two people. It was very busy when we went, but the service was excellent. What really stood out was their lovely gesture: while people were waiting in line outside, the staff served small bites of their specialty to everyone waiting. That made the long wait feel special and welcoming. A great spot to enjoy authentic Roman and Southern Italian flavors — definitely worth visiting!

We visited here at the end of September during our trip to Rome. There was a line outside to wait for a table, but it went by quickly! We were greeted while in line and were also given samples of the fried pizza which we enjoyed!! We ordered 2 fried pizzas (Pesto and Classic) and cacio e pepe pasta. It was very delicious!! This was one of our best meals while in Rome! The service was also great!
